A weekly class for Oboists of all ages to develop reed making skills. Topics include:
- Basic reed design and structure
- Scraping the American Style Oboe reed
- Adjusting any reed to improve tone, response, and pitch
- Knife skills and sharping
- Cane processing (gouging and shaping)
- Shaping and tying blanks
Students will receive a basic list of tool they should own before class begins. All levels of experience are welcome. Reed making is more fun in a group!
