The Philharmonic Music School’s partners include after-school programs, housing authorities, community centers and social service agencies. In addition to offering sequential instruction on a wide variety of instruments, the Music School provides teachers for music appreciation, world music, and music technology classes. We also collaborate with schools to create unique classroom residencies that connect music and the arts to academic subjects.
Collaboration with the Rhode Island State Council for the Arts (RISCA), the RISD Museum , and Trinity Repertory Theatre to assist vocational and technical high schools in implementing arts-integrated curricula.

Collaboration with Building a Community of Learning in Retirement (BCLIR) and Rhode Island Chamber Music Concerts (RICMC) to offer an extension class on the repertoire programmed by both the Philharmonic and RICMC during their regular seasons.
Partnership provides weekly, in-school music classes on theory and keyboard proficiency; past offerings have included Latin percussion as well.
Bradley Hospital School
Collaboration with the Bradley Hospital School began in April 2011, providing music therapy classes for middle school students served by Bradley Hospitals – either at the hospital location in East Providence or through satellite programs in the East Providence Public Schools. Program has expanded to include classes at Bradley Hospital locations in Portsmouth, South County, and Westerly (in addition to the East Providence Hospital and Public School locations).
La Salle Academy
Band and Orchestra sectional rehearsals provided during the school day by RI Philharmonic Orchestra Musicians and Music School Faculty.
Providence Country Day School
Providence Country Day (PCD) Upper and Middle School students take individual lessons with Music School faculty, and use Philharmonic facilities throughout the school day for classes and ensemble practice space. PCD instrumental musicians also present performances at the Philharmonic Music School.

PUMP (Pawtucket Urban Music Project)/Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing Arts
Program for at-risk youth was established in 2001 in the Pawtucket Housing Authority through a Creative Communities Grant. Has transitioned twice since inception: first to the Pawtucket Boys & Girls Club; later to the Jacqueline M. Walsh School for the Performing Arts & Jenks Middle School (both schools housed in one facility). Program is currently providing private voice instruction and instrumental sectional rehearsals at both schools.
